Today I woke up feeling immense gratitude for life in general! Thankfulness is vital to joy, it helps us to see the good. Today I chose to focus on what I do have, and not what I believe I lack.
I am thankful for:
My Legs: This body is the only one I will EVER have. I will do what I can to protect, praise, & celebrate it. I’ve criticized my legs for years, but I am thankful that they allow me to walk miles around New York City, climb 5 flights to my apartment everyday, and cycle when I want to relieve stress.
Everyday Things I Take for Granted: I can move my body independent of pain, I have a job that supports my growth, and I have a salary that allows me to pay for food/shelter
My Passions: passion is my fuel. It pushes me through any turmoil I may encounter and drives me to be a better person everyday.
My Freedom to Choose: I am in the deciding chair. I live in a society where I can choose what I want to do, where I want to go, and who I want to be. Though my decisions in the moment may not always align with my goals, I still have the freedom to choose.
What I Contribute to the World: I am here to do more than my journey and my work. I have the ability to help others, share my knowledge, to donate, to give advice, to share my stories to life others up.
Being Challenged: In my past, if something was tough, quitting would be my first choice. Now I am thankful for the challenges. Anxiousness signals that change and growth is coming.
The Past: The struggles are the way to victory and mastery. The moments I’ve been the most broken, have been the moments that have given me the ability to build myself up and come back stronger.
